With
the Grassroots support from a network for 30 local chapters
and nearly 50,000 members, Audubon New York has become a leading
conservation voice in New York State. broad conservation agenda
based on sound science Now, more than ever, we need your help
to continue to make Audubon New York one of the most effective
conservation organizations in the state.
Our Conservation
Policy Resolutions, which are initiated by our chapters,
provide the basis for Audubon New York's conservation efforts
in the State Legislature and Congress to protect birds, other
wildlife, and their habitats. The priority focus of these
resolutions are issues of statewide significance including
state and federal legislation, funding actions, and regional
solutions needed to protect and enhance New York's natural
resources.
Audubon New York also has a strong partnership
with National Audubon Societies Policy Office in Washington
DC, and provides advocacy support for federal issues, like
opposing drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge,
as well as issues of regional importance to New York state,
like the Long Island Sound Stewardship Act. Other examples
include supporting funding for the Land and Water Conservation
Fund, Great Lakes restoration measures, and Clean Water funding.
This partnership will continue to grow as Audubon's programs
in New York state move forward.
