Chemung Valley Audubon Society will open its fall program series with a bird conservation lecture at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 in the main dining room at Appleridge Senior Living, 168 Miller St., Horseheads.

Speaker Jillian Liner, director of bird conservation for Audubon New York, will present her work with New York’s Important Bird Areas Program, highlighting recent conservation efforts.

 

The IBA program strives to identify the most critical sites in the state for birds as it works toward their protection and proper management.
