Celebrating the 95th Anniversary of the Nation's First Audubon Songbird Sanctuary

The Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center was established in 1923 as the nation's first Audubon songbird sanctuary, and was graciously donated by W. Emlen and Christine Roosevelt in memory of their cousin, President Theodore Roosevelt. Please join Audubon New York as we celebrate the past ninety-five years and look towards the future, as the sanctuary continues to provide communal opportunities to enjoy the wonders of nature, learn about the importance of Long Island's ecosystem to birds of the Atlantic Flyway, engage in the protection of the Long Island Sound, and participate in innovative environmental education programs for learners of all ages.
