The Central New York community has played a key role in the efforts to clean up Onondaga Lake. The Onondaga Lake Visitors Center was designed and built by Honeywell to provide the public with access to the significant work taking place by hundreds of scientists, engineers, and skilled craft laborers from this region.

The Onondaga Lake Visitors Center is adjacent to I-690 along the southwest shoreline of Onondaga Lake.

Public open houses are held Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., April - November.

Reservations are required for all other times at 315-552-9751. There is no fee to visit the Center. To book a group tour, organizations should submit this form.

“Our trip to the Onondaga Lake Visitors Center brought research to life. These authentic learning experiences, coupled with classroom instruction, enabled the students to make connections between the history of the lake and the community. They developed wonderful plans for the lake’s future and understand the importance of citizenship and community involvement.”
