Audubon New York has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on November 29, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours, and activities that bring about real change in communities. We invite you to join the movement and to help get out and give this November 29.

Give More
#GivingTuesday is so much more than one day in November. Pledge to do more the following year. For instance, you can give a certain amount every month to a Audubon New York, or pledge to volunteer with us a certain number of times throughout 2017.
*Note: Audubon has earned Charity Navigator's highest ranking of four stars.
Volunteer
Our statewide Audubon centers and sanctuaries are often seeking volunteers for their education programming and on-the-ground conservation work. Keep on eye on their webpages and our Facebook page for regularly posted opportunities to help out.
Get Social
Help us spread the word about Audubon New York's involvement in the #GivingTuesday movement! Take an #unselfie telling your followers why you support Audubon New York's conservation work. Be sure to tag us in your post so we can share it, too!
How do I #Unselfie?
1. Take a “selfie” with a caption (or have it on a card in the picture) explaining how or why you and/or your friends are “giving” this year.
2. Always use the hashtags #UNselfie and #GivingTuesday.
3. Post it to Instagram, Facebook and/or Twitter and share with friends!
