Here is a video taken by Audubon New York’s North Shore shorebird technician, Alyssa Lefebvre. She captured a moment that many people, including her, work tirelessly to see- a Piping Plover chick practicing flight. A chick that reaches the stage of being able to fly is considered “fledged”, and is much more likely to survive to adulthood.
