Updates: Audubon New York Center and Chapter Events, Trails, Birds

Being outside in nature can help lift your spirits during challenging times.

Piping Plovers, Osprey, Barn Swallows, Killdeer, and more are being spotted across our state. The world may be standing still, but birds still need our help to thrive, and right now, we need them too.

Here are some ways you can experience migration season, safely.

Pass the Time on a Trail

As of today, all trails at Audubon centers in New York remain OPEN. We hope you'll come visit!

Constitution Marsh Audubon Center and Sanctuary: Trails Open | Center closed through at least April 30
*Bald Eagles are now nesting at the marsh! Keep an eye for Wood Ducks and Tree Swallows.

Montezuma Audubon Center: Trails Open | Center closed through at least April 30
*Waterfowl migration is kicking into high gear at the Montezuma Wetlands Complex, which means hundreds of thousands of ducks, geese, and swans can be seen. Sandhill Cranes have also arrived and we expect several pair will breed here again this year.

The Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center is closed, however the Wildlife Drive will open April 1, weather permitting.

Snow Geese at the Montezuma Wetlands Complex in Savannah, NY.

Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center: Trails Open | Center closed through at least April 30
*Our native plant and pollinator gardens will soon begin to bloom!
