1. Family fun in the woods: Walk, hike and play on the Helen Gordon Trail at Cumming Nature Center, 6472 Gulick Road, South Bristol, on Saturday, Feb. 14. The 10 a.m. event begins outdoors then concludes with a children’s nature movie in the Reidman Theater. Cost is $3 per person or $10 per family, free for Rochester Museum & Science Center members. 2. Sweetheart snowshoeing: Explore the Montezuma Audubon Center from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb, 14. Snowshoe on the trails at the center then enter the center for a bird-friendly chocolate tasting and learn how chocolates protect warbler habitat in winter. Fees are $8 per child or $10 per adult. 3. Polar Plunge: Take a dip in Lake Ontario on Sunday, Feb. 8 to raise funds for Special Olympics New York. A plunge into the 35-degree lake will take place at noon at Ontario Beach Park in Charlotte. Participants can register on site from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and must raise at least $60 in donations.
